Remembering Lance Corporal Tarwoe

Our hearts are breaking today. One of the Marines Iowa Troop Pantry has been supporting in Afghanistan made the ultimate sacrifice on April 12th. Pray for him, his family and all who serve our great country.

Lance Corporal Tarwoe worked with IDDs (IED Detector Dogs) IDDs are dogs that work on the front lines every single day alongside their Marine. They are key to preventing loss of life of military personnel.

A fellow Iowan was deployed to Afghanistan and through this the Iowa Troop Pantry came to support this unit.

During the Christmas season we were alerted to the severe deficiency in supplies this unit had to endure. Limited food, limited clothing, no hygiene items. When we alerted our volunteers and donors of the need -- the response was awe inspiring! We were able to send multiple boxes of over 250 pounds of supplies, with more going out every month.

We truly mourn the loss of Lance Corporal Tarwoe.
